SPOX Custom Orders - Ordering Journey and FAQs
At SPOX, we are proud to have built a community of Sole Mates who believe our socks are some of the most comfortable in the world - and our customers tell us the same. We would love to make custom socks, clothing, or sports accessories for you using this same tried-and-tested recipe. Below is everything you need to know about the process, pricing, and options for creating your own SPOX products.
How ordering works
Step 1 - Tell us what you want
Email or DM us with your logo and rough
colour ideas. If you are not sure what you need, we will guide you through the
options.
Step 2 - Choose your sock type and options
Pick cotton or race-day nylon socks, plus
length (ankle, crew, knee-high) and grip or non-grip.
Step 3 - Confirm quantities, pricing, and packaging
We confirm minimums, final pricing, and any packaging or display extras. Once approved, we raise an invoice.
Step 4 - Mock-up approval and production
We create a digital mock-up for approval.
Production begins once signed off and the deposit is paid.
Step 5 - Delivery
Typical lead time is around 6 weeks.
Remaining balance is due when socks are ready to ship. Delivery is fully
tracked.
Note: Many customers use this page as a
checklist. After reading, simply reply with your logo and answers to the key
questions (sock type, quantity, colours, and any packaging).
Pricing and minimum orders
How much do custom SPOX socks cost?
Custom socks start from GBP 6.50 per pair.
Grip socks start from GBP 7.50 per pair. Some specialist sock styles may cost
more. We always confirm final pricing before production.
Most customers resell custom socks between GBP 12 and GBP 15 per pair
(sometimes more), depending on the value of the brand, club, or event.
What is the minimum order for custom socks?
For socks that need exact colour matching
(Pantone/brand colours), the minimum is 50 pairs per size, per colour. This
applies across all sock types.
Can you match Pantone or hex colours?
Yes - we can match Pantone and brand
colours exactly, but this requires the 50-pair minimum per size, per colour.
Exact matching is not available on 30-pair runs.
Can I order fewer than 50 pairs?
Yes - we can offer 30 pairs as a
smaller-run option. On 30-pair orders, colours must be chosen from a fixed
colour chart and exact Pantone matching is not possible.
Lead times and delivery
What is your lead time for custom socks?
Our standard lead time is around 6 weeks.
In many cases orders arrive sooner (sometimes 4 to 6 weeks), but we quote 6
weeks to give a safe, realistic timeframe.
Why does production take around 6 weeks?
We produce socks using a limited number of specialist machines and we always have a backlog of orders in production. We
prefer to protect quality and consistency rather than rush orders.
Can you do faster lead times?
Yes - expedited production can sometimes be arranged (typically 2 to 4 weeks) for an additional cost, depending on the
production schedule, sock type, and quantity. Contact us with your deadline and
we will advise what is possible.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes - we can ship anywhere in the world. We will arrange the best shipping option for your location and provide tracked
delivery.
Design, logos, and placement
Where can logos go on the socks?
Logos and text can be placed in many
positions, including the side of the sock, back of the sock, shin area, and on
the foot/sole. We will guide you through placement during the design stage.
Does it cost more to design socks differently?
No - design changes do not affect the unit
price. As long as the sock type and quantity stay the same, you can design the
socks however you like (placements, text, patterns, or multiple elements).
Where do you recommend putting logos?
Side logos are common, but we often
recommend more strategic placement.
1) Vertical text down the back of the sock is a strong, clean option.
2) A logo on the shin is highly visible in photos and videos, because people
are rarely stood perfectly side-on.
These placements can increase brand visibility when people share content
wearing the socks.
What if my logo is complex?
Socks are made using jacquard knitting
(stitched into the sock), not printed transfers. Very detailed or circular
logos can be difficult to reproduce cleanly. If we feel a logo will not translate well, we will tell you and suggest a better approach.
How do people adapt complex logos for socks?
A common approach is to break the logo into simpler elements. For example, a small emblem on the shin and a short phrase or
brand name running down the back. This usually looks cleaner and wears better.
Do you help with the design?
Yes. We encourage customers to keep designs wearable and minimal where possible. The goal is to create socks people reach for as their favourite go-to pair. If your members already wear your kit, the socks are the cherry on top of the full outfit.
Packaging and display options
Do you offer custom packaging?
Yes. The most popular option is custom
cardboard sleeves. These can be fully designed to match your brand, with your
logo on the front and SPOX branding included (usually on the back).
How much does packaging cost?
As a guide, packaging starts from around
GBP 50 for 30 pairs and around GBP 80 for 50 pairs for fully custom sleeves.
Final pricing depends on quantity, style, and the level of customisation.
Do you offer other packaging or display options?
Yes. We can provide hooks for retail
display, fold-over packaging, bespoke retail-ready packaging, display units for
gyms and businesses, and display feet for reception desks or counters.
Samples and approvals
Do you offer samples?
Yes. For most customers, the best starting
point is to order a pair from our website (spox.uk) to try the fit, feel, and
quality. Any sock style on our website can be customised.
Can I order samples with my logo on them?
Yes, but this is a longer and more
expensive process. Logo samples typically cost GBP 80 to GBP 100 for 1 to 3
pairs. This cost is higher because sample pairs require stopping machines that
are producing bulk orders. The GBP 80 to GBP 100 is refunded if you go on to
place a bulk order.
How long do logo samples take?
Logo samples take around 6 weeks. If you
then proceed with a bulk order, production is typically a further 6 weeks. This
is why many customers choose to try SPOX-branded samples from the website
first, to save time and money.
Is there another way to approve my logo without paying for samples?
Yes. Before bulk production begins, we can
send close-up photos of the first pair produced so you can approve the logo
stitching and placement. To use this option, you will need to place a deposit
on the order (or pay for logo samples).
Digital mock-ups
Do you offer digital mock-ups?
Yes. Digital mock-ups are GBP 10 and
include up to 3 design revisions.
Is the mock-up fee refundable?
Yes. If you place an order, the GBP 10
mock-up fee is deducted from your final order total.
Bulk discounts, collaborations, and additional services
Do you offer discounts on larger orders?
Yes. If you are looking to order 250 pairs
or more, we can offer bulk discounts. Contact us with your quantities and we
will advise the best pricing.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before contacting you?
No. Most customers start with a logo and a
rough idea. We will guide you through sock type, colours, design, placement,
quantities, and packaging options.
Do you offer collaborations?
Yes. We are happy to discuss collaborations
with clubs, events, gyms, and businesses. If you think there is a good fit,
start the conversation and we will explore what is possible.
Can you sell our socks on your website and fulfil orders?
Yes. This is an additional service we can
offer. If you do not have your own online shop or fulfilment setup, we can
create a dedicated section on our website for your products and fulfil orders
on your behalf. Alternatively, you can fulfil orders yourself - it is flexible.
Materials, sustainability, and care
What materials are your socks made from?
Most SPOX socks are made from cotton or
nylon, depending on the sock type and performance requirement.
Are your socks sustainable or ethically made?
We work with factories that are OEKO-TEX
certified and we take worker standards and verification seriously. Our products
are made internationally, and some products are made in the UK. We can share
supplier certificates and verification details on request.
How do I wash and care for my socks?
For best results: wash at 30C and avoid
tumble drying. If you want to protect your socks further, wash socks with
similar colours (for example, white socks with whites) and avoid washing them
with heavy items. If possible, wash socks together and consider using a
protective wash bag.
Next step
If you are ready to start, email or DM us
with your logo and a rough idea of what you want. If you are not sure, contact
us anyway and we will guide you through the options.
Can I remove the SPOX logo?
Yes — the SPOX logo can be removed, but
this does come at a slightly higher unit cost.
By default, all SPOX socks feature our SPOX logo on the arch of the foot. This
placement is intentional — when worn with shoes, the logo is largely covered,
making it a subtle and discreet piece of branding.
Supplying socks without the SPOX logo is offered as a white-label option. The
increased unit price reflects the value of our trademarked sock structure and
proprietary pattern, which has been developed specifically for comfort,
performance, and durability.
Keeping the SPOX logo helps support us as a small UK-based brand as we continue
to grow across different sports and communities. That subtle branding allows us
to reinvest into product development and support more clubs and events.
If you’re happy to include the SPOX logo but would prefer it in a different
position, we’re very flexible — the logo can be placed elsewhere on the sock to
suit your design.
Is a deposit required to place my order?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required for your
order to be placed into production.
The remaining 50% balance is not due until your socks are ready to be posted
out to you. Once the final balance is paid, your order is released for
dispatch.
